A patient talks about leg lengthening with the FITBONE® method

In 2008, Martina Kappes had her right leg lengthened by four centimeters using the FITBONE® by WITTENSTEIN intens. Learn about her experience before and after surgery and what she thinks about it today.

Martina Kappes describes her experience

Martina Kappes was operated by Prof. Dr. Dr. Baumgart at the Limb Lengthening Center Munich in Germany on April 16, 2008.

The FITBONE® System components

The FITBONE® TAA system is a fully implantable intramedullary lengthening device. The system consists of the intramedullary lengthening nail connected to a receiver via bipolar feed line, locking screws and the external Control Set with control electronics and transmitter.
